UPDATE: Rear Seat Passenger Inside Vehicle Shot Teenaged Boy in Newark's South Ward

Police seek the public’s help in locating the below-pictured vehicle wanted in connection with an aggravated assault shooting incident that occurred in Newark on Wednesday.

Police say at approximately 3:23 p.m., Major Crimes Shooting Response Team detectives responded to a shooting incident that occurred in the 100-block of Elizabeth Avenue where a teenaged boy was shot by a rear passenger from a fleeing vehicle.

According to police, detectives developed information that the vehicle, a light-green Hyundai Santa Fe, 2007-2012, and its occupants were involved in this shooting.

Police say the car was last seen in the area of Elizabeth Avenue and West Bigelow Street.

While police are actively searching for the suspect vehicle and its occupants, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing them from Newark streets.
