UPDATE: Police Arrest Man Accused of Killing Grocery Store Clerk in Newark

Newark – Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose announced today that Joshua A. Choice, 24, of Newark has been arrested for the murder of Felix Rosario, 55, also of Newark.

Police said at approximately 9 a.m. on Oct. 18, Rosario, the manager of Dalbert Grocery Store, located at 227 West Runyon Street in Newark was shot and killed.

According to police, at 1 p.m. today Choice was arrested in the Bronx, New York, by members of the FBI Fugitive Task Force and the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office.

Choice has been charged with murder, possession of a handgun for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a handgun.

Bail was set at $750,000. Choice is being transported back to Newark, NJ, where he will be held at the Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark.

These are accusations.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they enter a guilty plea or are found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

The investigation is active and ongoing.
