Police took a 30-year-old Newark man into custody and charged him with a shooting that occurred outside the La Quinta Hotel on Sunday, police said.
According to authoritites said Michael C. Stapleton is being charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, and weapons offenses for the early morning shooting.
A 27-year-old man from Orange suffered serious injuries after being shot multiple times authorities said.
The man is listed in stable condition at Hackensack University Medical Center.
Newark police picked up Stapleton at around 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
