UPDATE: Franklin Township Shooting Leaves Man Critical

SOMERVILLE, N.J. – Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson, Somerset County Prosecutor's Office Chief of County Detectives John W. Fodor, and Franklin Township Police Chief Richard Grammar stated that at approximately 1:05am, the Franklin Township Police Department received a 9-1-1 call reporting gun shots in the area of Reler Lane, Somerset.

Prosecutor Robertson stated that upon arrival of patrol units, a 23-year old Somerset resident was found to have been struck by gunfire.

Police say he was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.

Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes and Crime Scene Unit, as well as the Franklin Township Police Detective Bureau responded to the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
