Two Men Arrested for Having 200 Stolen High-End Cameras from Bergen County Business

Bergen County authorities announced the arrests of Charles Dilkes,57, of Nanuet, NY, and Edwin Devia, 36, of Roselle, on charges of theft, receiving stolen property, fencing, and computer theft.

According to authorities, the arrests are the result of an investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Upper Saddle River Police Department.

Authorities say on May 2, during a theft investigation, detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigation Squad and the Upper Saddle River Police Department executed a search warrant on Dilkes’ vehicle at a Mahwah hotel.

The search revealed 58 Canon digital cameras that were stolen from an Upper Saddle River business.

Dilkes was arrested at the scene.

According to Upper Saddle River Police, additionally, detectives and officers executed a search warrant at a business owned by Devia in Linden, which revealed 156 digital Canon cameras that were also stolen from the same Upper Saddle River Business.

Police say Devia was arrested at the business.

Charles Dilkes was charged with second-degree theft, second-degree fencing, and second-degree computer theft.

According to officials, he was released on his own recognizance pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.

Edwin Devia was charged with second-degree fencing and second-degree receiving stolen property.

Devia was released on his own recognizance pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
