Kearny Officers were on the scene of an overturned tractor-trailer on the Belleville Turnpike (Rt. 7) just east of Schuyler Avenue this earlier this afternoon.
According to a preliminary investigation, the truck was heading westbound from North Arlington when it somehow lost control and overturned just before 2:25 p.m.
Police detoured traffic to the Jersey City area where it was rerouted to Newark-Jersey City Turnpike (CR-508), The NJ Turnpike, and/or Rt. 3 via Lyndhurst.
Authorities requested motorist to avoid the area for the for several hours as they assisted North Arlington Police and NJDOT in getting the roadway re-opene.
There were no serious injuries reported.
