Two Injured in Overnight Irvington Shooting

Police in Irvington is investigating a shooting that sent two people to the hospital overnight.

Township officers rushed to the intersection of Grove Street and Lyons Avenue shortly before midnight after reports of shots fired outside an Irvington bar.

After a dispute ensued, a vehicle reportedly fired several gunshots at a group outside the bar. A 29-year-old Union man was shot in the arm, according to police.

A second victim was reportedly found suffering a leg injury.

Both were rushed to University Hospital serious injuries according to officials.

Police set up a crime scene where they searched for evidence and possible suspects responsible for the shooting.

The motive for the shooting is under investigation.

There were no arrests immediately reported.
