Police in Newark are on the search for a suspect who conducted a carjacking in the city's Ironbound section on Saturday evening.
The incident happened at around 6:00 p.m. in the 90's block of Monroe Street where police responded to reports of a possible carjacking in progress.
According to reports, units arrived at the scene and began to canvass several Newark East Ward communities for a white 1998 Ford Econoline work van that was reportedly taken by a black male suspect strong armed.
The vehicle has a reported NJ license plate number "XCE-X86".
There were no physical injuries reported.
