Alleged Suspects Wanted for Separate Shootings Sought by Newark Police

Two suspects wanted for allegedly firing weapons in Newark -one causing bodily harm- had police issue arrest warrants.

A press release sent to the media by Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose is asking the public’s assistance in locating **Mr. Hassan Hutson, 32**, of Newark, and **Mr. Marquise Robinson, 22, of East Orange**, who are each wanted for separate shooting incidents.

**The charges lodged against Mr. Robinson and Mr. Hutson are allegations. Both men are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.**

But according to Newark Public Saftey Director Anthony Ambrose's accounts of the incidents, at approximately 9 p.m., on Friday, May 5, police responded to the 700-block of South 19th Street to a call of a man shot.

Director Ambrose said police located a 36-year-old victim, shot and suffering non-life threatening injuries at that location. EMS transported the victim to University Hospital where medical staff treated and released the victim.

Major Crimes detectives developed evidence that indicated Mr. Hassan Hutson is the alleged suspect in the shooting Director Ambrose said.

In a separate shooting incident, Director Ambrose said at 7:15 p.m., on Sunday, May 7, police responded to the 300-block of North 6th Street to a call of shots fired.

Police officers arriving at the scene located evidence that a shooting had occurred but found no injured victims Director Ambrose said.

A crime scene was established leading detectives to find evidence that indicated Mr. Marquise Robinson as the alleged suspect in this shooting.

Director Ambrose issued a warrant for the arrest of both men.
