Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose reports that police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect who is wanted for discharging a firearm in the city on Sunday, March 26, 2017.

According to police, at lapproximately 3:30 a.m., officers responded to N. 6th Street near Park Avenue on a call of a firearm being discharged.
There were no reports of injuries resulting from this incident.
While police are actively searching for this suspect, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing him from city streets.
This investigation is active and ongoing.
