There is an active investigation underway into a shooting that injured one person in Newark on Sunday.
Reports of shots fired sent police to the 30's block of North 13th Street at around midnight where units arrived to find the victim suffering a gunshot wound to the upper torso according to preliminary reports.
EMS rushed the conscious and alert victim to University Hospital, with police onboard, where doctors treated the patient.
The identity of the victim was not released, but reports said the victim is a female who suffered the injury.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation. No arrests have been reported.
