Student Threatens Violence Against Bloomfield Middle School

Bloomfield Police placed extra officers and security at the middle school after a student reportedly made a threat of violence against staff and students in the building on Wednesday.

According to a statement released by police officials, detectives received word of the threat and immediately launched an investigation where they deemed the incident 'unsubstantiated".

Police say the student in question was located and is now receiving medical attention.

Bloomfield Superintendent of School Salvatore L. Goncalves notified parents in an electronic message saying the following:

"...following a disciplinary action of a student/s it has been brought to my attention that parents and guardians at Bloomfield Middle School as some safety concerns. There is no credible threat to Bloomfield Middle School School's staff or students."
