StreetLight Mission in Elizabeth Provides Free Foot Exams

Elizabeth

StreetLight Mission will be bringing a pampering day to the feet of those who use them the most this afternoon.

The primary mode of transportation for those who struggle from poverty is their feet. As such foot care and well fitting footwear appropriate for the season is extremely important.

Today, at 2:00 pm, Dr. Michael Goldberger an orthopedic surgeon and director of Tri-County Orthopedics will bring a professional team of doctors, nurses, family members, and friends to StreetLight Mission in Elizabeth New jersey.

The team will provide free foot exams to more than 100 men and women.

Each person will also receive a pair of new winter footwear and socks. The Gateway Foundation and Soles 4 Souls donated the shoes.

“This is the fifth year that Dr. Goldberger and his team have provided this valuable service to people who do not have the resources to care for their feet. Many of those who come to this event walk in with shoes that do not fit correctly and are worn through the bottom with holes. In the winter this exposes them to frost bite. Each year our guests who come to this event are overjoyed to receive a new pair of winter boots or shoes and socks!” shared Reverend Paul Yuschak, one of StreetLight Mission’s founders and Board members.
