Somerset County Authorities Arrest Five for Drugs Distribution

Somerset County officials announced announced the arrests of Xavier Bailey, aka “X”, 29 of Village Drive, Somerset, Viridiana Munoz, 30 of Village Drive, Somerset, Derrick Johnson, 30 of Lyon Lane, Franklin Park, Harold Lagrone, 67 of Roberts Road, Somerset, and Titus Peters, Sr., 49 of Roberts Road, Somerset.

Prosecutor Robertson stated that the above-individuals were arrested following a three-month investigation into the distribution of heroin in the Somerset/Middlesex County area and were charged with the following offenses:

1. **Xavier Bailey** – 1st degree Leader of a Narcotics Trafficking Network, 1st degree Promoting Organized Street Crime, 2nd degree Possession of a Firearm, 2nd degree Endangering Welfare of a Child, 1st degree Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance with Intent to Distribute, 3rd degree Money Laundering, 3rd degree Conspiracy to Distribute or Possess a Controlled Dangerous Substance.

2. **Viridiana Munoz** – 2nd-degree Endangering Welfare of a Child, 2nd-degree Possession of a Firearm, 1st-degree Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance with Intent to Distribute, 3rd degree Money Laundering, 3rd-degree Conspiracy to Distribute or Possess a Controlled Dangerous Substance.

3. **Derrick Johnson** – Two counts of 3rd-degree Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance with Intent to Distribute and 3rd-degree Conspiracy to Distribute or Possess a Controlled Dangerous Substance.

4. **Harold Lagrone** – 3rd Degree Conspiracy to Distribute or Possess a Controlled Dangerous Substance.

5. **Titus Peters, Sr.** – 3rd-degree Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance with Intent to Distribute and 3rd-degree Conspiracy to Distribute or Possess a Controlled Dangerous.

Prosecutor Robertson stated that as a result of this comprehensive investigation, detectives executed five (5) Superior Court-issued search warrants to include the residences of Xavier Bailey, Titus Peters, Sr. and Derrick Johnson, which culminated in the seizure of approximately ten thousand and twenty-six (10,026) wax folds of heroin, approximately half a pound of marijuana, a loaded .40 caliber Smith & Wesson M&P handgun, four (4) motor vehicles, one (1) motorcycle, and nine thousand three hundred and sixty-one dollars ($9,361.00) in U.S. currency of suspected drug proceeds.

The heroin seized has an estimated street value of $50,130 and the marijuana seized has an estimated street value of approximately $2,000.

Prosecutor Robertson stated that aside from the previously mentioned law enforcement agencies, the success of this operation would not have been possible without the active support and cooperation from the Somerset County SWAT team, the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Unit, the New Brunswick Police Department Narcotics Unit, the Edison Police Department Narcotics Unit and the Bound Brook Police Department K-9 Unit.
