One person is being transported to University Hospital at this time after being shot in Newark's North Ward a short time ago.
Gunfire rang out in the area of 1st Avenue And North 6th Street at around 12:45 p.m. sending police to the scene where they located the victim shot at that location.
Police setup a crime scene where they are searching for evidence and a possible suspect.
The victim's injuries have not been reported as life threatening at this time.
