Linden authorities are investigating a shooting that sent one person to the hospital overnight in the city.
Police responded to reports of shots fired at the 7-Eleven at 1832 East St. Georges Avenue shortly before 11 p.m.
Units arriving at the scene found the victim suffering a gunshot wound to the throat according to preliminary reports.
EMS rushed the victim to the hospital in serious condition.

The incident is the result of a robbery that occurred at that location, but it is not immediately clear if an employee was shot or the suspect was injured at this time.
