Separate Hudson County Crashes Leave Three Dead

Hudson County authorities are investigating the causes of two separate crashes that fatally injured three people on Saturday evening.

Emergency responders rushed to Route 495 near the Lincoln Tunnel shortly before 6:30 p.m. where they found a car crashed into a barrier with one occupant inside according to sources at the scene.

The unconscious and unresponsive driver of the vehicle was transported to Hoboken University Medical Center where EMS provided life saving techniques while en route to the hospital according to reports. The patient later died at the hospital.

At around 9:15 p.m. in the in the area of JFK Boulevard and 26th Street, police responded to reports of a crash with injuries.

Emergency crews found two people seriously injured at that location.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the injured were struck and killed by the vehicle that lost control and crashed into them. Witnesses said that the pair were possibly teenagers.

Both occupants were pronounced dead at the scene according to initial reports.

The causes of both crashes is under investigation.

The identities of the victims have not been released at this time.
