Roselle Man Accused of Ensuing High-Speed Chase, Arrested

A 39-year-old Roselle man wanted for almost five months after eluding police was taken into custody Tuesday, authorities announced today.

Union County Sheriff’s Detective James Miller, and Sheriff’s Investigators Kenneth Randazza and Keith Rhyner located and arrested Christian Pacheco, 39, of Roselle, on an outstanding warrant for eluding arrest.

According to police, on April 1st Rahway Police Officer Andrew Webb attempted to stopped Pacheco after allegedly traveling 80 mph in a 45 mph zone but instead Pacheco led the officer on a chase through Rahway and Linden. Police eventually terminated the pursuit for concerns of public safety.

After months of searching, Investigator Rhyner tracked Pacheco to an address in Roselle where he was found and taken into custody. The Sheriff’s Officers transported Pacheco to the Union County Jail, where he was committed without incident.

Pacheco previously had a suspended New Jersey Driver’s License and was also wanted on an arrest warrant out of Weehawken.
