Checkers Restaurant Burglary Suspect Sought by Newark Police

Newark Police officials seek the public’s help in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with a restaurant burglary that occurred on Tuesday, July 10th.

Police say at approximately 5:15 a.m., police responded to Checkers Restaurant, located at 111 Hartford Street, on a burglary call.

According to police, the suspect allegedly broke into the restaurant and stole cash from the establishment before fleeing the scene.

Detectives investigating this incident obtained video footage of a person inside the restaurant after it was closed.

The suspect is described as wearing a loose, gray hooded sweatshirt and light blue jeans police say.

While police are actively searching for the suspect, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly identifying him and removing him from Newark streets.
