Linden

The community is invited to come out and support the hundreds of police officers - including ten Linden police officers - today as they participate in the Police Unity Tour which hopes to raise awareness for the more than 21,000 Law Enforcement Officers who have died in the line of duty.

“Team Linden” rides with Chapter 37 of the tour, which always begins at the World Trade Center in honor of the 72 officers who lost their lives September 11, 2001.

Beginning at about 12:30 p.m. over 250 riders and support personnel will be greeted by members of the

Linden Police and Fire Departments, the Linden High School Marching Band, R.O.T.C., and dozens of students

and supporters as they ride ceremoniously down Wood Ave.

The riders will stop for a short break at Robert Wood Bauer Promenade, 400 North Wood Avenue, during which Chapter 37 will present Officers Angel Padilla, Peter Hammer, David Guzman and Mark Kahana with the Police Unity Tour Medal of Valor for their actions leading to the arrest of Ahmad Rahami on September 19, 2016.

The event’s special guest speaker, Congressman Donald Payne Jr., will make a special presentation to
