Police Search for Suspect Wanted for Stealing Cooking Oil From Newark Ironbound Business

Police in Newark seeks the public’s help in identifying suspects wanted for questioning in a business theft that occurred on Saturday, January 4.

Police say at approximately 10:30 a.m., a male arrived at a side entrance of Forno’s Restaurant, located at 47 Ferry Street, and asked for access to the restaurant to replace its cooking oil.

A second male suspect connected hoses to the restaurant’s cooking supply system and drained approximately 160 gallons of unused cooking oil.

The first suspect is described as 5’5” tall, wearing dark-colored clothing.

The two suspects may have arrived in a black colored van that was seen in front of the restaurant.

Detectives investigating this incident seek the public’s help in quickly identifying these suspects as part of this investigation.
