Police Investigating After Man Enters Franklin Twp. Hospital Suffering Gunshot Wound

Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson, Chief of County Detectives John W. Fodor, and Franklin Township Chief of Police Richard Grammar announced that the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Franklin Township Police Department detectives are actively investigating a shooting incident which was reported to authorities by hospital officials.

Prosecutor Robertson stated that on Dec. 25th at approximately 12:17 a.m. the Franklin Township Police Department was notified by officials from an area hospital that they were treating a male gunshot victim. The victim whom authorities are only identifying as a 25-year-old North Brunswick male underwent emergency surgery and is expected to survive.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the shooting may have occurred on Stothoff Street, Somerset.

Investigators are attempting to determine the location of the shooting, if it was an isolated incident, and if the victim was the intended target, but have received limited cooperation.
