EMS transported a male victim to University Hospital suffering a non-life threatening ear injury after a shooting incident that occurred in the Newark's North Ward on Sunday night.
Gunfire rang out in the vicinity of Delevan and Broadway just before 8:30 p.m. sending multiple police officers to the scene where they closed off several locations as cops searched the area for evidence and a possible suspect who is wanted for the shooting.
According to a preliminary investigation, police are looking for a grey colored vehicle occupied by suspects who they believe fired shots then sped away in the car.
Police found shell casings in the area, but there were no other injured victims located.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
