Pedestrian Killed by Car in Clifton

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Clifton Police Chief Mark Centurione announce that at approximately 7:48 p.m., on Friday Police responded to Lakeview Avenue in the area of East Fourth and Fifth Streets, in the City of Clifton in response to a pedestrian being struck by a motor vehicle.

Police say a Honda Civic operated by a twenty (20) year old Clifton resident was involved in a collision with a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, identified as (64) year old Galia Bacheva, also a Clifton resident, was pronounced deceased a short time later.

The driver of the Honda suffered no injuries and remained on scene.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
