Paterson Police Investigate After Two Shooting Victims Arrive to Separate Area Hospitals

Authorities are investigating a shooting in Paterson after two victims injured by gunfire arrived to two separate area hospitals.

Paterson police said that at approximately 8:13 p.m. on Feb. 1st, officers were dispatched to the area of Clinton and North Main streets for a report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, as officers established a possible crime scene inside of 50 Clinton Street, they were advised that a 22-year-old Paterson man arrived to Saint Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for treatment of a non-fatal gunshot wound. Police said the unidentified male victim was treated and later released.

As detectives continued to investigate at the scene, members of the Paterson Police Department were notified that a 25-year-old Paterson resident was being treated at Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack for a non-fatal gunshot wound.

Based on the initial investigation, authorities believe both victims were injured during the same incident.

The investigation into the shooting remains active and ongoing.
