Newark Woman, Hamilton Man Killed in Head-On Collision on NJ Turnpike in Monroe

A violent crash that killed two people on the New Jersey Turnpike in Monroe has State Police investigating.

According to State Police officials, the crash occurred early Saturday morning when two cars collided head-on near mile marker 72.4 of the highway.

Police said Micah Morris, a 41-year-old of Hamilton Township, was operating a Toyota Corolla heading north in the southbound side of the highway when he crashed into a Hyundai driven by Katherine Ordonez, 23, of Newark, at around 12:20 a.m.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene according to police.

Police have launched an investigation into why Morris was driving on the wrong side of the highway.
