Irvington Man Wanted for Newark Shooting Arrested After Community Tip

A 26-year-old Irvington man wanted in connection with a Newark shooting that occurred on December 3, 2016, was taken into custody.

According to authorities, at approximately 9:28 p.m., Newark Police responded to a call of shots fired in the 200-block of Hunterdon Avenue.

Two female victims were shot at following a verbal altercation with Mr. Arnold Locke.

There were no injuries reported police said.

The Honorable Arthur J. Batista, J.M.C., issued a $100,000.00 warrant for Mr. Arnold Locke’s arrest.

Police located Locke yesterday as a result of a tip and placed him under arrested without incident.

Police charged Mr. Locke with Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose and Conspiracy.

These charges are merely accusations.

The suspect is presumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.
