Authorities in Newark announced the arrest of Nabeel Chihadeh, 47, of Edison, for an incident of illegal dumping Tuesday night.
According to police, at approximately 11:50 p.m., officers patrolling the 500-block of South Orange Avenue observed a red pickup truck parked on the sidewalk.
Police say they saw the driver outside the truck discarding debris, including drywall, sheetrock and wooden window frames onto the ground.
Police immediately arrested Chihadeh then charged him with illegal dumping and illegal transport of solid waste.
The vehicle used to transport the dumped materials was towed and is subject to seizure by forfeiture.
These charges are merely accusations.
The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
