Newark authorities are reporting the arrest of Fouquon P. Jones, 42, of Newark, for DWI and weapon possession today.
According to police, at around 2:39 a.m., officers responded to a call of a motor vehicle accident at Park and Roseville Avenues.
The officers reported that no accident had occurred, but that they observed Jones passed out behind the wheel of a gray 2005 Nissan Altima authorities said.
Jones was arrested for DWI and was found to be in possession of a loaded .40 caliber handgun.
Authorities said he was also charged with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.
These charges are merely accusations.
The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
