Newark Charter High School Students Sing National Anthem for New York Giants-NY Jets Pre-Season Opener at Metlife Stadium

Newark

Earlier tonight the talented and brilliant students from the **KIPP Newark Collegiate Academy** choir performed the National Anthem at MetLife Stadium to open the NY Giants vs. Jets preseason game.

The choir director, veteran musician extraordinaire-role model **Mr. Samar Newsome** was joined by the Newark Collegiate Academy Panthers football team in their invitation to the game as part of the NFL's Play Football initiative celebrating youth football.

According to **NFL officials** Play Football works to shape the football experience, advocate for safety, promote football values, and connect football communities.

The school's website said **KIPP Newark Collegiate Academy** is the network’s first – and currently only – charter high school.

It serves students from both KIPP TEAM and KIPP Rise Academies who have stepped up from middle school, as well as new-to-KIPP ninth graders who fill other open seats.

Students are located in a new, state of the art building on Littleton Avenu where they are offered a well-rounded educational experience that includes Honors and AP course options, varsity athletics, and a variety of clubs that appeal to student interests.

Congratulations to KippNJ officials, Mr. Samar Newsome, and the young ladies and young men over at KIPP Newark Collegiate Academy for a job well done.
