Newark Armed Robbery Suspect Apprehended, One At-Large

A 27-year-old Newark man was arrested for his alleged role in an armed robbery that occurred on November 3rd.

According to police, at approximately 7:30 p.m., a man was robbed by two black males at gunpoint in the 80’s block of Sussex Avenue.

Police said the suspects then fled on foot, heading southbound on Nesbit Street.

Detectives developed sufficient evidence to identify Jerrez Wagner (left photo) as one of the suspects.

Police today arrested and charge Wagner with Robbery, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, and Conspiracy to Commit Robbery.

The investigation is ongoing as at least one other suspect remains at large.
