BREAKING TRENTON: Multiple People Injured After Gunmen on Dirt Bikes, ATV's Fired Shots at Park Event in Trenton

Police are investigating a shooting that injured several people at a park in Trenton then the incident escalated into a riot-like situation at a nearby hospital overnight.

Details are continuing to develop but according to preliminary reports, multiple people suffered gunshot wounds on Saturday evening at an event in a park across the street from Cooper Pool on Union Street.

Police say the event was coming to an end at around 10 p.m. when multiple individuals on dirt bikes and ATVs sped through and began shooting and injuring several people for no apparent reason.

According to police, the injured victims were rushed to Capitol Health Trauma Center for treatment.

Police say at least one male is in critical condition and another suffered a non-life-threatening injury to his arm. According to police, a female is in critical but stable condition after suffering several gunshot wounds.

A fourth shooting victim found on Centre Street was taken to the hospital in serious condition. Police say they also recovered a weapon at this location.

More than a two dozen unruly people begin to gather at the trauma center forcing police to contact Ewing Township and Lawrence Township police for riot control.

The incident remains under investigation.
