Men Arrested After Performing Alleged Sex Act on Clifton Department Store Bed Had Scabies

Clifton

Two men caught in an alleged sex act on a Bed Bath & Beyond display bed caused the police station to undergo fumigation after men were found to suffer from a contagious health condition known as scabies.

According to police, officers responded to the Route 3 store on Jan. 30 after an employee allegedly witnessed the men engaged in a sex act on the display bed.

The men - only described as two 28-year-old's, one from Nutley, the other from North Carolina - were arrested and charged with lewdness, criminal mischief, and possession of marijuana.

However, after officers had discovered the men suffered from scabies, the Clifton Police Department booking area was fumigated to prevent the spread of the parasite. The officers exposed to the scabies parasite were treated at a local hospital, according to officials

The display bed was also removed from the store as a precaution, store officials announced.
