Manslaughter Charges Against Edgewater Man, Son of a Former Aide to NY City Mayor Bill DeBlasio's Wife, Dismissed

Edgewater

Manslaughter charges against a 20-year-old Edgewater man, who is the son of a former aide to New York City Mayor Bill deBlasio's wife, have been dismissed.

On September 7th, a judge dismissed the manslaughter charge against Khari Noerdlinger, 20, who stabbed Savion Lewallen, 16, in self-defense during a robbery attempt last year, reportedly following the request of Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal.

Noerdlinger however still faces charges of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and hindering apprehension.

Prosecutors initially claimed Lewallen had worked for Noerdlinger as a drug dealer and a dispute ensued over money.
