Police in Newark are seeking the public’s help in identifying two suspects involved in a robbery of a supermarket Wednesday night.
According to police, at approximately 7:50 p.m., officers responded to the Exito Fresh Market, located at 341 Montclair Avenue, on a call of an armed robbery at that location.
Police said a black male entered the store armed with a rifle or shotgun along with a female and took money from the cash registers.
The male suspect is described as 6-foot tall and approximately 140 lbs. He was wearing a blue bandana around his face, a blue hooded jacket and blue jeans.
The female suspect is approximately 5-foot, 7-inches tall and weighs about 180 lbs.
She was wearing a red hooded jacket and blue jeans.
While police are actively searching for these suspects, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing them from city streets.
This investigation is active and ongoing.
