NEWARK ALERT: Man Wanted for Allegedly Stealing Electric Bike in Downtown Newark

Police officials in Newark seek the public’s help in identifying a suspect wanted in the theft of an electric bicycle from New Street, near Washington Street, on Friday, July 12th.

According to a statement released by Newark Police, the victim parked the bike between 11:50 a.m. and 12 p.m. then returned to discover that it had been stolen.

Police provided a stock photo of the stolen bike that the suspect allegedly took according to authorities.

"Detectives investigating this theft retrieved a surveillance photo of the suspect and are seeking the public’s help in quickly identifying him so that he can be removed from our streets" Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose said.

All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
