Man Struck by Gold Taxi Cab in Newark's Ironbound Section

A man who was struck by a car in Newark's East Ward suffered non-life threatening injuries according to police officials.

The incident happened just at the case of the Jackson Street Bridge and Raymond Boulevard at approximately 10:10 a.m.

Fast responding Newark Ironbound Police officer arrived at the scene after passerby's observed the victim lying on the ground in excruciating pain.

Officers were able to comfort the victim until EMS arrived the transported him to the hospital.

Witnesses say the driver of the taxi was attempting to make a left turn when he struck the pedestrian.

The investigation into the incident remains active.
