EMS transported a man to University Hospital in Newark after gunfire rang out in Roselle this evening.
According to preliminary reports, police responded to reports of shots fired in the 400 block of East 2nd Avenue shortly before 8:45 p.m. where arriving officers found the victim struck by gunfire.
Police set up a crime scene in the neighborhood where they searched for evidence to support a motive for the shooting.
The condition of the victim has not been released at this time.
There were no arrests made.
