Police officials in Newark are looking into a stabbing that left a person injured in a Newark North Ward neighborhood during the overnight hours.
Police were called to the vicinity of Grafton Avenue and Broadway after they received reports of a person stabbed just before 2:20 a.m.
Officers arrived at the scene found a heavily bleeding unidentified male suffering a stab wound to the leg at the 7-Eleven according to authorities.
Police say EMS rushed the victim to the hospital while police searched the area for the suspect who reportedly fled westbound on Grafton Avenue according to reports.
The motive for the stabbing remains under investigation.
