Pedestrian Strike Leaves One Person Seriously Injured in West Orange

Authorities are investigating a pedestrian strike that caused severe injuries in West Orange on Wednesday night.

Police were called to the intersection of Hutton and Northfield avenues at shortly before 8:30 p.m. to investigate reports of a person struck by a car at that location.

Emergency responders rushed to the scene to find the victim laying on the ground according to authorities. EMS transported the victim to the hospital serious condition.

Detectives for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office were called to the scene to assist in the investigation, but according to officials, the victim's injuries were non-fatal as of 5:44 a.m.

The incident remains under investigation.
