An investigation is underway after an altercation left one person violently stabbed in Jersey City overnight.
Police believe that a man and a woman were first involved in an argument in the 70's block of Virginia Avenue when the woman pulled a knife and stabbed the victim just before 12:05 a.m.
Police say EMS she'd to the scene and began CPR before rushing the unconscious and unresponsive victim to Jersey City Hospital for treatment.
Doctors listed the victim in 'grave' condition.
Anyone with information on the stabbing is asked to call police.
