UPDATE: Jersey City Man Pleads Guilty to Leaving Scene of Crash That Killed Two Teens

A 21-year-old man Friday pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of a crash that claimed the lives of two teens.

According to authorities, Rashaun Bell, of Jersey City, pleaded guilty to two counts of leaving the scene of the Oct. 18, 2017 crash in the area of Terrace Avenue and Leonard Street.

Officials say, Elionel Jimenez, 15, and Alexander Rosas Flores, 16, were riding a single bicycle when they crossed Terrace Avenue onto the Secaucus Road ramp of Route 1&9 North, where they were struck by Bell.

According to authorities, Jimenez was pronounced dead at the scene while Rosas Flores was pronounced dead the next day at the Jersey City Medical Center.

Bell - who has remained in custody since the crash - is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 14th.
