Hudson County Felon Admits Possession of Firearm, Ammunition

A Hudson County man, previously convicted of multiple felonies, admitted today to possessing a firearm and ammunition, U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito announced.

Benorce Duncan, 31, of Jersey City, pleaded guilty to an indictment charging him with one count of possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon.

According to documents filed in this case and statements made in court:

On May 21, 2019, Duncan knowingly possessed a Röhm .22-caliber RG10 revolver loaded with six rounds of ammunition.

At that time, Duncan had previously been convicted in the Hudson County Superior Court of aggravated assault and robbery, both of which are felonies.

The charge to which Duncan pleaded guilty carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000. Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 8.
