A Hoboken-based food distributor is among two companies recalling more than 1,500 pounds of imported ready-to-eat pork products due possible Listeria contamination.

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service, Ferrarini USA, Inc. of Hoboken and Prime Line Distributors, Inc. of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, are recalling approximately 1,513 pounds of dry-cured pork jowl, commonly known as guanciale.
Officials said the products were produced in Italy on May 21, 2026, and imported into the United States during July.
The recall includes Ferrarini Guanciale Dry-Cured Pork Jowl and other packaged guanciale products bearing lot number “263311US” and a “Best If Use By” date of May 16, 2027.
The affected products also carry establishment number “IT 1937 L CE.”
Ferrarini products were distributed to food service operations and distributors in several states, including New Jersey and New York, as well as California, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Michigan and Texas.
Federal officials discovered the issue during routine import reinspection testing when a product sample tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes.
Listeria can cause serious illness, particularly among older adults, people with weakened immune systems, pregnant women and newborns.
As of the recall announcement, officials said there were no confirmed reports of illnesses associated with the products.
Consumers concerned about possible illness are advised to contact a healthcare provider.
