New York Giants punter Steve Weatherford will join officials and locals tomorrow as part of the Neighborhood Community Foot Patrol in Newark.
Weatherford nationally recognized for his extensive philanthropic work with his primary outreach focused on children and families will give out 750 smoke detectors to Newark residents during the foot patrol.
Weatherford in addition to being the spokesperson of Second Chance Toys, Steve serves as Health and Fitness Ambassador for the Boys and Girls Club of New Jersey, and head coach for Wellness in the Schools.
He was moved to donate smoke detectors to the Newark Fire Department after a Father's Day fire that killed three Newark residents. The smoke detectors are being given away to promote fire safety in the City of Newark, as residents enter the winter heating season.
