Firefighters Battle Early Morning Two-Alarm Fire in East Orange

Firefighters made fast work out of a fire that ignited inside a home in East orange early this morning -Thursday-.

The fast-moving fire had firefighters a two and a half story wood framed house located in the 300 block of North Arlington Avenue at approximately 4:05 a.m.

First responding firefighters arrived to find fire showing from the upper levels of the structure according to preliminary reports.

Crews struck a second alarm as flames appeared to extend from a portion of the structure.

Crews were able to bring the blaze under control in about an hour with a search of the house for trapped and injured occupants coming back negative.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
