Firefighters in Union safely evacuated students from a senior dorm after fire broke out inside a room during the overnight hours.
According to a statement released by Kean University officials, there was a small fire in a dorm room kitchen at Roger Hall shortly before midnight on Saturday.
Kean University officials said the smoke alarm effectively activated, and students were evacuated from the building.
Officials say The Union Fire Department responded and quickly extinguished the blaze and no one was injured.
The fire was contained in one room, and there was no damage beyond that room according to Kean University officials.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
