Fatal House Fire Reported in New Brunswick

An early morning fire that ignited inside a house in New Brunswick now has fatal injuries reported.

Firefighters rushed to the 20's block of Stockton Street after receiving reports of a fire with possible trapped occupants before a 1 a.m.

Arriving crews located thick smoke coming from inside a house at 29 Stockton according to preliminary reports.

Firefighters reportedly pinpointed the origination of the blaze to the basement where they quickly extinguished flames that extended to the upper levels then to the roof of the house.

At least one person was pulled from the house and pronounced dead according to reports.

A firefighter received medical attention for a non-life threatening injury.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
