Family, Friends Identify Girl Struck, Killed by Off-Duty State Trooper in Westfield

A teenager was killed in Westfield Saturday evening when she struck by a service vehicle driven by an off-duty New Jersey State Police Trooper, has been identified by friend and family on social media.

According to Prosecutor Park , at approximately 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Westfield Police Department patrol units responded to the 1800 block of Central Avenue to find 13-year-old victim at that location.

She was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene.

 

Sunday night, friends and classmates gathered on Central Avenue near Wyoming Street, where many left flowers flowers for the victim, who was identified as Terry Difalco. Along with the memorial, a prayer service is scheduled at St. Helen Church tonight at 7:30 p.m., according to s Facebook post.

There were no charges filed. However, adding authorities added that the investigation is continuing, with the Union County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit, Union County Police Department, and Westfield Police Department assisting.
