The Essex County Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into the death of a woman found dead inside a residence in Orange on Monday evening.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the 100 block of Chapman Street at around 5:30 p.m. for reports of suspicious activity when they found the unconscious and unresponsive person inside a home at that location.
Medical personnel pronounced the person dead a short time later according to a spokesperson for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office.
The Prosecutor's Office would not release further information until a next of kin of the victim was 'properly notified'.
The cause of manner of death is pending results from the State Regional Medical Examiners' Office.
